The sixth annual Salsa-Licious event was held at Sargent’s Nursery on Saturday, March 3, 2018. 16 salsas from 15 different groups were entered into competition and 339 people attended the event. Years 1-5 of the event have helped raise $65,620 for over 30 local non-profits. Totals for year six are not yet available. The winners included: Hispanic Outreach “Roja Furiosa” - people’s choice; St. Crispin Living Community “Olive You Will Love It!” - judge’s choice for best red salsa; Boy Scout Troop 32 “North Woods Green” best green salsa; C.A.R.E. Clinic “Have you BEAN to the doctor lately?” - judge’s choice for best bean salsa, Masonic Lodge’s choice for best name; Red Wing Farmer’s Market “Golden Sun” - judge’s choice for best fruit salsa; ArtReach - Masonic Lodge’s choice for best display, Masonic Lodge’s choice for best costume.
