Boys Tennis: Wingers can't keep up with Tigers
The Red Wing boys' tennis team had some close matchups with Albert Lea on Thursday but ultimately took the loss, 6-1.
Lincoln Bryan at No. 2 singles logged the lone victory for the Wingers. He won 6-2, 6-4.
At No. 3 singles, Kris Betcher fell 4-6, 4-6, while at No. 4 singles, Jackson Hull lost his first set 3-6, came back to win the second set 7-6, but lost the tiebreaker, 6-10.
Next up for Red Wing is the Big Nine Conference meet at 9 a.m. on Saturday in Rochester.
Northfield 7, Red Wing 0
Red Wing deviated from its usual multiple set format on Tuesday in favor of an eight-game pro set. The results from the change in play were not ideal for the Wingers, however, as they fell to Northfield, 7-0.
Aidan Coyle put up a strong effort at No. 2 singles with a 5-8 loss.
