Scoring proved to be difficult on Thursday for the Red Wing boys' soccer team as it hosted Northfield and fell victim to a shutout, 6-0.

The Wingers kept the score close in the first half, only giving up one goal and playing a balanced game. The wheels fell off the cart in the second half, however, with Northfield notching five goals. Northfield's River Dittrich recorded a hat trick on the day.

Red Wing's Keegyn McNamee made 12 saves. The Wingers were outshot 18-4.

Red Wing, 0-5 (0-4 Big Nine), returns to action on Tuesday with a trip to Faribault.
