Boys Hockey: Wingers best Mankato West

Mankato West got the first goal of the game, but Red Wing responded by scoring four of the next five goals, including three of four in the second period, in a 5-3 win over the Scarlets on Saturday.

Jack Nevitt tied the game early in the second, then Cam Blue put Red Wing up 2-1. Ethan Swenson made it 2-2, but Blue closed the second and opened the third with goals to give the Wingers a 4-2 advantage.

Kam Krueger pulled Mankato West within one, but Blue put the puck into an empty net for his fourth goal at 16:47. Zach Harding made 25 saves in the win.

Red Wing (4-13-1) will play Albert Lea on Tuesday in its sixth-straight home game.
