Boys Hockey: Champlain Park runs away from Red Wing

After Red Wing's Josh Rikli tied the game 1-1 at the 9-minute, 38-second mark of the first period, Champlain Park jumped all over the Wingers, scoring four-straight goals for a 5-1 victory on Friday.

Sam Schuster scored at 3:31 of the opening frame, giving the Rebels an early 1-0 lead.

After Rikli's goal, assisted by Cam Blue, Ayden Grant and Brady Swanstrom scored to give Champlain Park a 3-1 lead into the first intermission.

Rebel Jack Karges got the lone goal of the second period, and Derek Roberts scored in the third.

Champlain Park peppered Winger goalie Zach Harding with 49 shots, including 24 in the second period. Harding made 44 saves, while his counterpart, Brennan Boynton saw just 19 shots.
