Gymnastics: Wingers get win No. 1

A season-high score of 129.825 gave Red Wing a win over Faribault (123.075) on Friday, the Wingers' first victory of the year.

Red Wing had at least the top-two places in ever individual event, and also first and third in the all-around. Breck Bergin (9.4), Carolyn Hanson (8.625) and Ally Urban (8.5) went 1-2-3 on the vault while Bergin (8.2), Hanson (8.15) and Chloe McGrath (7.675) swept the parallel bars.

Bergin and Hanson tied for first on the balance beam with a 9.0, but Bergin (8.7) edged Hanson (8.5) on the floor. In the all-around, Bergin won with a 35.4, and Hanson was third with a 34.275.

The Wingers are off until Jan. 2 when the team will travel to Rochester to face Century, John Marshall and Mayo.
