Boys' Basketball: Owatonna tops Red Wing

The Red Wing boys’ basketball team trailed 38-35 at halftime, but couldn’t make up the difference in the second half. Owatonna edged Red Wing 73-66 on Monday.

Owatonna outrebounded the Wingers 37-20.

Deso Buck led the Wingers with 24 points and five 3-pointers. Carson Nystuen had 18 points and two steals.

Red Wing fell to 2-17 overall and 1-15 in the Big Nine. Tuesday’s game against Century was postponed. The Wingers will look to snap an eight-game losing streak on Friday in Austin.


The Red Wing boys' basketball fell to Faribault 66-48 on Saturday.

The Wingers had tough night collectively from behind the arc as the team went 2-for-19.

Marcus Walm led the Wingers with 10 points. Dayne Wojcik had nine points and five rebounds, while Zach Cota had eight points and five assists.

Red Wing dropped to 2-16 overall and 1-14 in the Big Nine.
