Boys' Basketball: Red Wing rebounds with big win over Albert Lea

The Red Wing boys' basketball team put together two strong halves of basketball in its 81-64 win over Albert Lea on Friday.

The Wingers outscored the Tigers 40-34 in the first half and 41-30 in the second. Additionally, the Wingers outrebounded Albert Lea 30 to 23.

Freshman Deso Buck led Red Wing with 18 points. Carson Nystuen and Mac Desutter each had 14 points. Zach Cota scored 12 points and had a team-high seven rebounds.

Red Wing improved to 2-9 overall and 1-7 in the Big Nine.


Despite shooting well, the Red Wing boys' basketball team lost 91-68 to Austin on Tuesday.

The Wingers shot 51 percent from the field and 57 percent from behind the arc. But Austin capitalized on Red Wing's mistakes, scoring 21 points off turnovers.

Zach Cota led the Wingers with 27 points and nine rebounds, while Deso Buck added 19 points.

Red Wing fell to 1-9 overall.
