Girls Basketball: Wingers' win streak moves to eight

Red Wing’s win streak extended to eight games on Friday as the fourth-ranked Wingers held off Mankato West for a 66-54 Big Nine Conference win at Sonju Gymnasium.

Lindsay Reps, Kyli Nelson and Tayzha Buck accounted for all 12 of Red Wing’s 3-pointers on Friday, with Nelson hitting a team-high 5 out of 10 for 17 points. She also had six rebounds and three assists. Reps hit four triples as part of a team-high 20 points to go with five assists and five steals. Buck tallied three 3-pointers as part of a 14-point, five-assist game.

Abi Deming nearly had her second-straight, double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.

Holly Wiste led the Scarlets with 12 points, followed by 11 from hailey Kiewiet.

Red Wing (11-1, 8-1 Big Nine) travels to Rochester Mayo on Jan. 16 before playing a key Section 1AAA matchup at Northfield on Jan. 18.
