Boys Basketball Wrap: Z-M takes out CHOF

Three players scored at least 11 points in Zumbrota-Mazeppa's 59-48 victory over Christ's Household of Faith on Friday.

Robvon Jackson led the Cougars with 15 points, while Jacob Niebuhr totaled 13 and Zach Hutton added 11. Jackson also had 11 rebounds, three steals and three assists, while Niebuhr finished with five assists and four boards.

Southland 55, Goodhue 54

A 10-point halftime lead evaporated for Goodhue in a 55-54 loss to Southland on Friday.

Dawson Evanson paced the Wildcats with 11 points, adding two assists and a steal. Sam Opsahl had 11 points for Goodhue, and also had a team-high five rebounds.

The Wildcats shot just 35 percent from the field, and hit 14 of 23 foul shots.

Thursday

Lake City 65, Z-M 43

Lake City broke open a six-point game on Thursday, beating Zumbrota-Mazeppa, 65-43.

The Tigers led 31-25 at halftime, then jumped all over the Cougars in the second half. Nathan Heise had 19 points for Lake City, followed by Marc Kjos' 13 and Reid Gastner's 11.

Z-M did not have a double-digit scorer, with Zach Hutton and Will Heitmann leading the way with nine each.

Randolph 57, K-W 32

Andrew Wenstrom's 20 points paved the way for Randolph's 57-32 victory over Kenyon-Wanamingo on Thursday.

Carsyn Gunderson added 16 for the Rockets, who held the Knights' to one double-digit scorer in Tate Erlandson (11).
