Amateur Baseball: Five-run eighth leads Aces over Austin
After Austin tied the game in the top of the seventh inning, Red Wing came back with five runs in the bottom of the eighth to top the Greyhounds, 6-2, on Wednesday.
The Aces got a bases-loaded double from Ty Buck, and an RBI single from Kyle Blahnik in the eighth, to break open a 1-1 game.
Red Wing got on the board first in the fourth with a Dixon Irwin single that scored Mitch Matter. Both Irwin and Matter had three hits in the victory.
Evan Bayer got the win, throwing the final two innings and allowing three hits and an earned run in relief of Trey Eckstrom, who pitched seven innings. Eckstrom allowed one unearned run and seven hits.
