Ina Evelyn Dammann

Ina Evelyn Dammann, 85, of Red Wing, died Sunday, June 23, 2019 at St. Crispin Living Community in Red Wing. She was born December 19, 1933 to Oscar and Geneva (Foss) Nelson. Ina graduated from Red Wing Central High School and went on to work at the Red Wing Shoe Company for 8 years. She married Donald Dammann on June 23, 1956 at the United Lutheran Church in Red Wing. Together the couple raised three children. Ina worked at Twin Bluff Middle School as a cook for many years which allowed her to keep the same schedule as her children. Ina was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing where she served on the ladies' guild. She was also a member of the YMCA and the Sons of Norway. She loved to travel and she and Don played in card clubs for over 47 years. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald; one son, Gene (Ann) of Woodbury; two daughters, Gayla (Steve) Brower of Monticello and Gloria (Mark) Bosshard of Shoreview; 4 grandchildren; Angela (Rob) Troupe, Laura (fianc, Chris Hemstad) Bosshard, Mike (Emilie) Dammann and Colin Bosshard; 4 step grandchildren, Amy, Kara, Alicia and Nate; 5 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Zoe, Lucy, Jack and Bennett; 8 step great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Zwack of Knoxville Tenn.; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers, Walter, Otto, Roy and Orvin"Bud" Nelson; one sister, Verna Johnson. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2019 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Rev. Todd Engel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.
