Ruby Rose Scott

Ruby Rose Scott, age 90, died on March 13, 2019, at St. Crispin Living Community. She was born in Red Wing on March 14, 1928 to Edward and Anna (Jens) Simonson. After graduating from Central High School in Red Wing in 1946, she was united in marriage to Otto Nelson on February 22, 1947 at St. John's Lutheran Church. They lived in Red Wing, and Otto passed away on March 3, 1991. She worked at Woolworths, R & S Pharmacy, and the Corner Drug Clinic Pharmacy. She later married Donald Scott on September 21, 1996. He passed away on March 14, 2009. She enjoyed crocheting and making fancy eggs. She was a member of United Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her three daughters, Susan (Raymond) Schabert of Cannon Falls, Nancy (John) Reynolds of Minneapolis, and Carolyn (Chris Sanford) Lien of Hastings; two step-daughters, Patricia (Rick) Adams of Anchorage, Alaska and Dorothy (Jon) Andrews of Portugal; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eleanor (David) Powers of Black River Falls, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Margaret Johnson, Dorothy Holstrom, and Iris Simonson; and one brother, Emil Simonson.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019 at United Lutheran Church, with Reverend Karl Rydholm officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to United Lutheran Church. Online condolences can be left for the family at
