Ruby M. Bjurquist

Ruby Marlene Bjurquist, age 81, formerly of Red Wing, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Easthaven Villa in Yelm, WA after a courageous battle with cancer. She married the love of her life, James Bjurquist, on June 22, 1957 at the Stockholm Moravian Church. They lived in Red Wing until 1997 when they moved to Tacoma, WA to be closer to their daughter and granddaughter. Ruby worked at Riedell Shoes for 10 years and then later worked at Hiawatha National Bank in Hager City, WI until she retired. She enjoyed gardening, reading, watching hummingbirds and baking, especially pies. Ruby learned how to crochet from her father at a young age and was especially proud that she was able to pass that talent on by teaching her granddaughter.

Ruby is survived by her husband, James of Yelm, WA; one daughter, Jamie Doody of Yelm, WA; one granddaughter, Veronica Doody of Yelm, WA; one brother, Ralph (Betty) Grab of Maiden Rock, WI; two sisters, Sharon Anderson of Plum City, WI and Sandi Kleiner of Foxboro, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Robert; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Kleiner of Foxboro, WI and Allan Anderson of Plum City, WI.

A funeral and burial will be arranged at a later date.
