Reported shooting in Red Wing was the result of a hallucination, police say
A report of a shooting from a 911 caller Monday morning, Feb. 18, 2019, was determined to be a hallucination, according to authorities.
Police responded to the 1300 block of Bush Street around 7:25 a.m. Monday to a report of an individual at a residence with a shotgun who was shooting the caller's family, according to a Red Wing Police Department news release. A search of the residence determined the house was empty and that the caller hallucinated the event, police said.
The caller was transported to Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester for assistance, according to the report.
Red Wing Police Department, Goodhue County Sheriff's Office and Goodhue County Dispatch assisted with the incident.
