Area Boys' Basketball: Lake City keeps rolling, Pine Island tops W-K

The fifth-ranked Lake City boys' basketball came out on top, 73-50, against Lewiston-Altura on Friday.

The Tigers dominated the first half, outscoring the Cardinals 41-15. In the second half, Lake City led at one point by 29 points.

Nathan Heise was a big part of the TIgers' offense. Heise nearly had a triple-double with 24 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. Jake Wohlers added 12 points on four 3-pointers.

Lake City improved to 9-2 overall.

The Pine Island boys' basketball team defeated Wabasha-Kellogg 54-41 on Thursday.

The Panthers held the Falcons in check in both halves as the Panthers outscored W-K 27-21 in the first and 27-20 in the second.

Carter O'Reilly, who recorded a double-double, led the Panthers offense with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Josh Navratil also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Kingsland 71, Goodhue 53

The Goodhue boys fell to Kingsland Thursday night, 71-53.

The Wildcats were led offensively by Sam Opsahl with 17 points. Dawson Evenson scored 15 points and Jacob Christensen added eight. Opsahl and Evenson combined for seven of the team's eight 3-pointers.
