The LORD in His mercy called Connie E. Hecklinger, age 88 years of Red Wing, out of this life and home to heaven on February 2nd, 2018. Connie was born to Albert and Ethel (Jones) Bruns in North Dakota on January 28, 1930.
The family moved to a farm near Merrill, Wisconsin, where Connie and her eleven siblings were raised. After graduating from high school she worked at a local factory that made gloves. In 1948 she married Harley Chilson Craig. They had four children - Sandra (David) Baker, Sherryl (Steve) Westphal, Sheila (Roy) Rogers, and Diane (Gary) Hagler. She and Harley parted ways, and in 1958 she married Gene Hecklinger. They had three children - Faron, Cathy, and Chris (Mary Lou).
Connie was a very dedicated mother and grandmother. She had many grandchildren and some great grandchildren. She loved and adored them all. Connie is lovingly remembered for her kind and caring heart. She will be dearly missed by all.
Connie was both baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. At the time of her death she was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Red Wing. She took an active part in the church and loved her Savior greatly.
Connie was preceded in death by her daughter Cathy and is survived by her sons Faron and Chris, by daughters Sandra, Sherry, Sheila, and Diane, and by two siblings, brother Louis Bruns and sister Gladys Gross.
