Goodhue County and the Minnesota Department of Transportation remind citizens not to dump snow on public roads. It is unlawful and hazardous to plow, blow, shovel or otherwise place snow on public roads — including the ditch and right of way area along the roads.
Violations are considered misdemeanors, but other penalties apply if the improper snow placement leads to a crash. This can apply to both the property owner and person who placed the snow.
Let's keep our roads, intersections, exits and entrances clean and unobstructed this season, authorities said.
