Potter-Third street intersection closed until Aug. 18
The intersection at Potter and Third streets near Highway 63 will be closed until Aug. 18 for underground utility work.
Work was completed earlier in the summer, and the road was reopened for a week. The contractor has returned to finish the work, which includes storm sewer and other services. The Highway 63 bridge project includes building a new bridge to replace the current bridge, replacing the historic slip ramp Highway 63 bridge over Highway 61, reconstructing approach roadways in Minnesota and Wisconsin, improving access to Red Wing, and upgrading pedestrian and bicyclist crossings.
The prime contractor on this $63.4 million construction project is Zenith Tech. The new bridge is expected to open to traffic by fall 2019.
