How to get involved: Open house for Hwy. 316 project is Aug. 21 in Hastings
HASTINGS — All are invited to a public open house 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21 to hear an update for the Highway 316 Improvement Project. The open house will be held at Crossroads Church, 225 33rd Street W. in Hastings, with a short presentation scheduled for 5:15 p.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to see and comment on potential design concepts for the north junction of U.S. 61 to just south of Tuttle Drive in Hastings. The design concepts aim to improve safety and traffic flow for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists. These potential improvements may be incorporated into a 2021 Highway 316 resurfacing project between the north junction of Highway 61 and the south junction of Highway 61 in Goodhue County.
Following the presentation, open house attendees will be asked to indicate their preference of the possible design concepts and will have the opportunity to interact with the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s project team and City of Hastings staff.
Anyone who is unable to attend the public open house can go to www.mndot.gov/metro/projects/hwy316and give their input through or by way of a virtual open house, which will be available online from Aug. 22 through Sept. 5.
Public input gathered at both the in-person and virtual open houses will help the project team further prioritize improvement options.
