Red Wing School Board to vote on Nemanich as RWHS principal
George Nemanich is the sole finalist for Red Wing High School principal. Nemanich has strong connections with Red Wing after working for 20 years in the school district, Superintendent Karsten Anderson said in an email Tuesday night.
For nine years, Nemanich has been a school administrator in Rochester.
Seven individuals were interviewed after the district received 19 applications. A team of parents, staff members, administrators, and board members conducted interviews on June 25. Nemanich's application will be forwarded to the School Board for consideration at a special meeting 7:30 a.m. Friday, June 28, in the high school media center.
"Nemanich blends strong community connections with experience in a larger, more diverse school district," Anderson said. "Undoubtedly, there will be excitement throughout the school and community with his selection. He is the right person at the right time for Red Wing, and I know he will make Red Wing High School even better."
If selected by the School Board, Nemanich will replace Todd Herber, who accepted a principal position in South Washington County Schools. Nemanich's contract would begin as soon as July 1.
