Looking for a festive holiday gift? Look no further than the Tower View Candle Company.

The candles are on sale now, with a number of different scents available.

Ben Slagle, the career and technical education teacher at Tower View Alternative High School, said this will be the seventh semester selling candles.

The candles are part of a small-business class. The students get to learn how to run a business and manage their finances, while also getting to make the candles themselves.

Slagle said the money raised goes to charity. In the past, Tower View has donated the money raised to Burnside Elementary, HOPE Coalition and the food shelf. This year, Tower View will be donating the money to the Tower View Mental Health Initiative to help support mental health services.

The candle program has grown substantially since Slagle began it, raising $400 in the first semester, to last semester raising almost $5,000.

The best way to purchase the candles is to contact Slagle over email, bpslagle@rwps.org.
