Outgoing county board chair grateful for respectful conversations
Before adjourning the Goodhue County Board meeting Tuesday, Dec. 19, Chair Ronald Allen shared his thanks with board members and county staff for another year of respectful collaboration.
"One of our prior commissioners said something once that we don't usually gavel in this office because people are respectful and we don't need a gavel to bring people to order because once you take a vote we move on," Allen said. "We don't hold grudges and we're very respectful of each other as we go forward. And I just wanted to say that I appreciate that — the respect and assistance from the board members — and thank you." 2017 marked Allen's third time as county board chair.
