Update June 11: Suspect in Crothall Laundry threat arrested in Ohio
Authorities in Ohio have arrested the Red Wing man local police believe made threats at gunpoint Friday at Crothall Laundry Services.
Michael Berry, 39, was captured June 9, 2018, in southern Ohio by Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies, Red Wing Chief of Police Roger Pohlman said Monday morning. The arrest came at approximately 5:30 p.m. and was made with help of Ross County (Ohio) deputies.
Red Wing police had responded at 7:15 a.m. Friday, June 8, after Goodhue County Dispatch received a call from Crothall Laundry Services, 950 Featherstone Road, stating a male had entered the business with a firearm and threatened employees, then left.
That evening, police identified Berry as the suspect and issued an arrest warrant for potential charges of kidnapping -- to commit great bodily harm/terrorize; threats of violence; and false imprisonment -- intentional restraint. Police said Berry was considered armed and dangerous but they believed he had left the area.
“The Red Wing Police Department would like to thank everyone that provided information and cooperated with investigators on this case,” Pohlman said.
