TOWN OF TRIMBELLE -- A motorcyclist was airlifted from the scene of a crash Saturday morning in the town of Trimbelle that landed him in one ditch and the motorcycle in the other.

Minneapolis resident Joshua Kong Xiong, 25, was heading northbound on County Road OO just north of 410th Avenue at 11:53 a.m. when he came over the crest of a hill and lost control due to his speed. Xiong crashed and was ejected from the cycle. He landed in the northbound ditch while the cycle, a 2007 Suzuki, crashed in the southbound ditch.

Xiong was airlifted from the scene by North Memorial Air and transported to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minn. with non-life threatening injuries. The cycle was towed from the scene.

Xiong’s driver’s license was not motorcycle endorsed and the cycle’s registration was expired. The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol, who was assisted by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, Ellsworth Fire, Ellsworth EMS, Red Wing EMS and North Memorial Air.
