Two injured in Pierce County motorcycle crashes

Two Minnesota men were injured in separate motorcycle crashes Sunday in Pierce County.

The first crash was reported just before 4 p.m. on 170th Avenue and Highway 35 in Hager City.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, 55-year-old Edward Withuski from Brooklyn Center, Minn., crashed while driving west on 170th. The motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve in the road, lost control and fell over, according to deputies.

Withuski was transported by Red Wing ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Wing with undisclosed injuries.

Red Wing police, firefighters and EMS, along with Ellsworth firefighters and first responders assisted at the scene of the crash, which remains under investigation.

Deputies responded to the second crash at 7:57 p.m. in the town of Oak Grove, where 59-year-old Richfield, Minn., resident Maurice E. Bresette was ejected from the motorcycle he was on.

According to a news release, Bresette lost control on a curve and crashed into an embankment.

Bresette was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with undisclosed injuries.

River Falls ambulance and Prescott police assisted deputies at the scene.
