UPDATE: Hager City crash victim in 'good' condition

A Twin Cities man was airlifted from the scene of a head-on crash Thursday outside Hager City.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said Jacob Connelly, 26, Arden Hills, was flown by North AirCare helicopter following a crash at Highway 35 and County Road V-V in the town of Trenton.

He was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. A spokesperson there said Friday he was listed in good condition.

Deputies said Connelly’s vehicle was struck head-on at 3:57 p.m. after a vehicle driven by Michael Flynn, 43, Hager City, crossed the centerline on a curve in the road.

Flynn sustained minor injuries in the crash but was not hospitalized.

The sheriff’s office said inattentive driving was the suspected cause of the crash.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Ellsworth Area Fire, Ellsworth paramedics and the Red Wing police department.

More information on the crash will be released as it becomes available.
