Wisconsin offers child care subsidy

Wisconsin Shares, a child care subsidy program for low-income parents, is taking applications.

To qualify, parents or guardians must participate in one of the following activities: unsubsidized work; attend high school if under 20; W-2 employment program; employment skills training while continuing unsubsidized employment; Food Stamp employment and training work search or work experience programs; or are a W-2 applicant participating in up-front job search, training or orientation activities.

Participants also must have a family income less than 185 percent of the federal poverty level.
