The staff of the Cannon Falls School District said they hope the poppy planting in the Cannon Falls Cemetery will become a tradition. This is the first year the staff has made the ceramic poppies, based on the Tower of London poppies in 2014, where 888,246 ceramic poppies were placed in the moat around the castle to remember the English soldiers who fought in World War I.
