Spotlight: Saluting the Civil War at Red Wing High School
Minnesota, barely 3 years old at the time the Civil War broke out, was the first to respond to President Abraham Lincoln's request for volunteer regiments. Find out how important Minnesota's role was to the Union cause.
Saluting the Civil War — Minnesota's Role will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Red Wing High School, 2561 Eagle Drive Drive.
Doug Ohman has journeyed across the state finding graves and remembering those who served this tragic but interesting chapter in American history. The gifted storyteller, whose photography and historical perspective, has been featured in numerous newspapers, magazines and books.
