Red Wing Arts announced the Best of Show winner, glass artist Jon Offutt of Fargo, N.D., selected from more than 100 talented artists at the 51st annual Red Wing Arts Festival, held Oct. 14-15 in historic downtown Red Wing. Fantasy artist Timothy Kobs of Trempealeau, Wis., and mixed media artist Olga Krasovska of Granite Falls, Minn., won Awards of Merit.
Celebrating 51 years, the Red Wing Arts Festival boasts a unique mix of high-quality work — painting, sculptures, jewelry, crafts, ceramics, textiles, photography and more — in a welcoming open-air market environment. The Red Wing Arts Festival is produced by Red Wing Arts with support from the City of Red Wing. Proceeds from the festival help fund arts programs at Red Wing Arts all year long.
Red Wing Arts Association also announced at the Arts Festival that its name will now be known simply as "Red Wing Arts" and a new logo was unveiled. The 65-year-old organization is proud of the support they've provided to local artists and for the extended programming in Red Wing's creative community over the last six decades. Today, Red Wing Arts is building and creating arts experiences for the entire city. From the Veteran's Memorial in Levee Park to Pollinator Park on Main Street, to the summer concerts in Central Park and the annual fall Arts Festival plus much more, Red Wing Arts is committed to bringing quality arts experiences to the entire community.
The Red Wing Arts Festival is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund and is sponsored by the City of Red Wing.
