Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received, publicly opened and read aloud by the City of Red Wing, Minnesota, at the City Hall, 315 West 4th Street, Red Wing, Minnesota 55066 in said city at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019 to construct the 2019 Well and Well Pump Rehabilitation - Well 7-1 project as defined in the Project Manual. A general description of the work includes:
1. Removal, inspection repair and reinstallation of well pump, motor and
appurtenant equipment.
2. Televising well after pump is removed;
3. Removal of accumulations of sand and debris from the well, if authorized by Owner
4. Installation of submersible pressure transducer carrier pipe and pressure transducer;
A Project Manual prepared by the City of Red Wing is on file and available for review during normal business hours at the City of Red Wing Public Works Building, 229 Tyler Road North, Red Wing Minnesota 55066.
Complete sets of Bidding Documents and bidding instructions are available for downloading from the City of Red Wing website (www.red-wing.org) for a non-refundable fee of $20.00.
Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or cashier's check payable to the City of Red Wing in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid as a guarantee that the Bidder, if successful, will enter into a contract with the Owner for the work described in the bidding documents. This deposit will be subject to forfeiture as provided by law. The deposits for the three lowest bidders will be retained by the Owner until the contract has been awarded and executed, but no longer than ninety (90) days. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days following the bid opening.
A pre-bid meeting will not be held. Questions regarding the technical or administrative aspects of the project or to arrange for a site visit should be directed to Bob Stark, P.E., City of Red Wing Deputy Director of Public Works - Utilities at (651) 385-5112 or bob.stark@ci.red-wing.mn.us.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities or to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, in the best interest of the Owner.
