PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the City of Red Wing Advisory Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in the City Council Chambers at City Hall on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., to hear and make a recommendation on a
Conditional Use Permit request by Red Wing Grain, 810 Levee Road, to construct a new 1.2 million bushel grain bin at 166 Cannon Bottom Road and for an
associated storm water management plan. The proposed grain bin will have 96' side walls, a peak height of 127', and an overall height of 146', which includes conveyer equipment. The Red Wing Zoning Ordinance requires a Conditional Use Permit in the Light Industrial (I-1) Zoning District for structures with a height
exceeding 45'. The project will disturb approximately 1.3 acres of land. The Red Wing Zoning Ordinance requires a Conditional Use Permit for a storm water management plan if a project disturbs more than one acre of land.
Plat and Parcel Numbers: 55-868-0010 and 55-868-0020. Lots 1 and 2, Block 1, BRYAN BUSINESS PARK SECOND ADDITION, City of Red Wing, Goodhue County, State of Minnesota. More commonly known as 160 and 166 Cannon Bottom Road.
Written or oral comments to said CUP may be presented at this public hearing or filed with the City Clerk prior to this hearing. Each response will be duly
considered and evaluated before any formal action is taken by the Planning Commission.
The applicant and the public will have the opportunity to present comments on the Advisory Planning Commission's recommendations at a City Council meeting. The purpose of allowing comments is to provide the applicant and the public with the opportunity to directly address the Council on the matter. The comment
period cannot be used for the presentation of new information as all relevant
information needs to be provided to the Advisory Planning Commission at the public hearing. If new information is presented to the City Council that was not considered at the public hearing of the Advisory Planning Commission, the Council may vote to send the matter back to the Advisory Planning Commission. All comments will be kept to the customary 3-minute limit. The City Council meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on October 22, 2018.
