Nine women donned formal dresses Friday to compete in the 2019 Miss Goodhue Pageant. Four crowns were placed on heads at the end of the night.

Hailey Hurlbut, sponsored by The Professional Lice Center, is the new Miss Congeniality. The nine contestants voted and she was the winner amongst her peers. Natalie Huemann (Workout 24/7) amd Alexis Ferguson (Goodhue Family Chiropractic) were chosen by judges to be the city's two princesses for the coming year.

With one, final crown to be placed on a head, the candidates clasped arms and stood in nervous anticipation. Reigning Queen Mary Poncelet, whose last act as Miss Goodhue was to crown her successor, pretended to crown herself instead. After a nervous laugh from the pageant participants, Caitlin Peters was introduced to the full gym as their next queen.

The stands exploded with cheers and excitement.

Peters' sponsor was Farmers Union Insurance Agency.
