Spotlight: Hispanic Heritage Festival 2018
Hispanic Heritage month kicks off with a great celebration! The Hispanic Heritage Festival, organized by Hispanic Outreach of Goodhue County, will take place noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, in Central Park in Red Wing.
This amazing event will start with a mariachi band performance followed by Aztec and Colombian dancers, Puerto Rican Bomba Show, and the incredible Caribbean band Rumba Eterna.
We will have cultural kids activities and a piñata making be part of this fun-filled event.
Authentic Mexican, Central American foods and drinks will be sold at the event.
This year Hispanic Outreach will have the renowned artist and muralist Gustavo Lira Garcia. He will be live, painting a canvass throughout the event with the input of our Youth Leadership Program students and community members.
Also, don't miss our moving immigrant photo exhibit "I, too, am Red Wing" "Yo también soy Red Wing." It will portray the stories and lives of Latin American immigrants who may be our friends, neighbors, coworkers or acquaintances.
