Three Rivers celebrates 50 years of service

Three Rivers Community Action will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a public open house Tuesday June 7 at its Zumbrota office, 1414 North Star Drive. The event, which runs 2:30 to 5 p.m., is intended to thank staff, volunteers, community partners, donors and program participants.

Three Rivers began in the 1960s as a small group of citizens determined to bring the “War on Poverty” to Goodhue and Rice counties. Today the organization serves over 15,500 clients each year in programs such as Head Start, home delivered meals, support to homeless individuals and families, homeownership education and counseling, heating cost assistance, weatherization improvements to homeowners, MNsure application assistance and resources for senior caregivers.
