Maiden Rock mine seeks new control permit
Ramsey Hill Exploration in Maiden Rock has submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources a permit application, including plans and specifications to construct and operate a sand processing plant and modify a sand mine to support the processing plant.
There will be a public hearing 2 p.m. Monday, April 29, at the Pierce County Government Center Annex conference room, 432 W. Main St., Ellsworth.
The facility at Highway 10 and 390 Avenue has registration operation permit 648063790-ROPA for the mine. The proposed project is subject to a new source performance standard. By rule, after the proposed project, the facility will no longer be eligible for a registration operation permit.
DNR has made a preliminary determination that the application meets state and federal air pollution control requirements and that the permit should be approved.
