Sentys get back into automotive parts
Steve and Kathy Senty say they made a mistake when they sold their NAPA Auto Parts Store back in 2004.
They had opened that store on Old West Main Street in 1999. After selling the business, the Sentys said they missed their old store. Plus,
driving truck for a living was taking away from their time as a family.
The Sentys never sold their building at 1416 Old West Main St., however, and when an
opportunity to open an Auto Value Store presented itself, they jumped at it.
"Our true heart was getting back into automotive parts," Kathy Senty said.
The couple's new independently owned Red Wing Auto Value recently opened. They buy all the parts they stock, said Steve Senty, which gives the couple a lot of autonomy in how they run their store.
And their young children get dropped off at the store after school, Kathy Senty said.
"Having the store helps keep the family together. We want this to be a family business," she said.
The store has three full-time employees and three part-time workers. As the store grows, the couple intends to add more employees, she said.
Red Wing Auto Value will hold a grand opening from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 19.
