Memorial service for Richard F. O'Connor, 88, Bay City, will be 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at his home at W6405 Main St. Military honors will be at the lakeshore around 5 p.m.
Merle Miller, 85, of Red Wing, passed away Tuesday at Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. He was born to Louis and Viola Miller on Sept. 25, 1923, in Monona, Iowa. He grew up on a farm in rural Monona and graduated from Monona High School. @death of veteran: Merle served in the Army during World War II in the heavy artillery unit at Fort Sill, Okla. He married Betty Bruehahn at St. John's Lutheran Church in Luana, Iowa, on July 23, 1948. They farmed north of Luana for more than 30 years. Merle also sold Archer Oil for many years.
Funeral Mass for Cecelia T. Krier will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mazeppa with Father Robert Meyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Mazeppa. Mrs. Krier, 91, of Lake City, Minn., died early Wednesday morning at the Lake City Medical Center - Mayo Health System Hospital. Cecelia Theresa Perrotti was born Jan. 13, 1918, in Mazeppa to Peter and Theresa (Tri) Perrotti. She attended school in Mazeppa. On Oct. 28, 1937, she married Leonard Krier at St.
Eugene R. Carlson, 87, Oct. 18, 1921, to Aug. 31, 2009. Eugene Roland (Rolly) Carlson 87 of Winnetka, Calif., and formerly of Red Wing, died in his home. Survivors include his three sons, Larry (Pat) of New Jersey, Peter (Betty) of California and Tom (Yvonne) of Iowa; one daughter, Kathy (Al) Alatorre of California; three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, all of Red Wing; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Sept. 11, 2009 Dale Anthony Jonas, 73, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at his home. He was born Oct. 8, 1935, in Red Wing, to Rudy and Helen (Kruger) Jonas. @death of veteran: He graduated from Goodhue High School in 1953 and then served in the U.S. Navy from March 22, 1956, to Feb. 19, 1960. On Aug. 20, 1960, he was married to Brenda Thuman. He worked for the Vasa Creamery, Central Research and H.L. Thumann Construction, and he also established Evergreen Estates in Ellsworth.

Elizabeth Amanda "Betty" Quam, 99, of Cannon Falls, died on Friday evening at the Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls. Betty was born at home on Feb. 21, 1910, in Leon Township, the daughter of Tom and Oline (Renestrand) Eide. She grew up in Leon Township, was baptized and confirmed at Urland Lutheran Church, and attended country school at District 52. In her youth, Betty had worked with various farm families in need of domestic help. On Feb. 9, 1935, she married Martin J. Quam, and they raised three sons. Following her husband's death on Dec.
Sept. 4, 2009 Mike Pelach, 89, of Farmington, Minn., passed away Friday. Mike retired from 3M after 26 years and is a life member of the Farmington VFW. He is preceded in death by six siblings. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marion; children, Judy (Brad) Graff, Cindy (Herb) Haverland, Denise (Dave) Anderson, Annette (Pat) Cunningham and Michael (Lynn) Pelach; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Violet Johnson, Frank (Delores) Pelach, Mae Curry, Ruth Goodyear and Irene Ervin; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral will be 11 a.m.
Sept. 2, 2009 Carl Lloyd Robeson, 82, of Hastings and formerly of Hampton, died Wednesday afternoon at the Regina Nursing Home in Hastings. Carl was born the second oldest of eight children on May 12, 1927, near Knox City, Mo., the son of Harold and Mabel (Primm) Robeson. After graduating from Memphis (Mo.) High School, Carl enlisted with the United States Navy in 1945 and served his country during World War II. He was honorably discharged in August 1946.
Sept. 2, 2009 Steven R. Glaus, age 47 of Maiden Rock, Wis. died on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009. A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a prayer service at 1:45 p.m. at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home in Maiden Rock.
