Regina I. (Lundell) Budensiek, 78, of Cannon Falls, died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Regina was born March 13, 1931, the daughter of Rutherford and Blanche (Lindell) Lundell, and grew up southeast of Cannon Falls. She had worked as a nurse's aid at St. John's Hospital in Red Wing and for the St. Paul Fire Insurance Company in St. Paul. She also had worked as a waitress. Regina married her best friend Floyd on July 9, 1977, on a hobby farm south of Goodhue (White Willow).
Brenda M. Betcher, 45, of Honolulu, Hawaii, formerly of Welch, died Wednesday at her home in Honolulu. Arrangements are pending at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
William K. Zickrick, 71, of Red Wing and formerly of the Kellogg, Minn., area, died Monday at the Red Wing Health Center. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, with Pastor Lyle F. Krumrie officiating. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery, Kellogg, with military rites by the Kellogg American Legion. Friends and relatives may visit one hour prior to the service Tuesday.
Janice J. Heise, 74, of Goodhue died on Wednesday at her home in Goodhue. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Goodhue, with the Rev. Randall Kuznicki officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Lake City. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church and one hour prior to the service. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, is handling arrangements.
Stephen T. Ginn, 84, of Wabasha, formerly of Red Wing, died Monday evening, May 18, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was born Jan. 23, 1925, in Guckeen, Minn., the son of William and Josephine (Guckeen) Ginn. In his early teens the family moved to nearby Blue Earth, Minn. He served 4 1/2 years in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving in the South Pacific. After the service he worked for Standard Oil for 14 years in Whiting, Ind. He then worked as a maintenance engineer for St. Margaret's Hospital in Kansas City, Kan. He retired in 1990.
Lu (Lourdes) Boeck, 40. of Cannon Falls, died Sunday at her home. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church, Cannon Falls, with the Rev. Daniel Feldkamp officiating. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Burial will be in Cannon Falls Cemetery. Memorials are preferred. Arrangements are by Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls.
Stephen Allen Seipel, 46, of Plum City, died Monday at his home. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church, Maiden Rock, with the Rev. John Hazen officiating. Burial will be in Porcupine Cemetery, Frankfort Township, Pepin County, Wis. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand is handling arrangements.
Betty Ann Pagel died Monday, May 18, 2009, from congestive heart failure at the Cannon Falls Hospital. Betty was born on June 13, 1925, to Edward J. and Elizabeth (Irving) Ranfranz in Chicago, Ill. After graduating from high school, Betty went to San Francisco, Calif., to work and live with an aunt. She met and dated Edward F. Pagel, who was stationed there in the Navy during World War II.
Kevin "Gopher" H. Laughnan, 51, of Ellsworth, died Friday, May 15, 2009, at his home. Kevin was born Febr. 10, 1958, in Red Wing, the son of James and Audrey (Christiansen) Laughnan. Gopher worked for various farmers in the area throughout the years. He enjoyed fixing things and adored his nieces and nephew. Kevin is survived by his girlfriend, Shelly Haselman, Ellsworth; two children, Luke and Abbie, Maiden Rock; mother, Audrey (Roger) Christiansen-Eng; siblings, Faye Glaus, Roger (Pauline) Laughnan, and Judy Sawczynec, all of Ellsworth.
James "Jim" A. Kruger, 48, of Millville, Minn., died Saturday in Hyde Park Township, Wabasha County, Minn. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, with Pastor Doris Ruben officiating. Burial will be in the Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior Wednesday to the service.
