Goodhue County Board re-approved accepting a land donation Tuesday to create a park near Kenyon, while nixing a public-private partnership for land adjacent to Lake Byllesby Park being eyed for a campground. With Halloween fast approaching, Bill Habedank of Red Wing is gearing up for his annual pumpkin carving display. Goodhue County Board agreed Tuesday to set one last meeting with city mayors and administrators to gather input on solid waste issues before making a decision that would raise disposal fees countywide. “There’s nothing else we can do as staff, no more information we can give to you,” Public Works Director Greg Isakson told commissioners about the solid waste discussion that has persisted without conclusion for years. The board is considering a waste designation ordinance that would require garbage collected in the county be sent to Red Wing.
