Pine Island solar permit OK’d Goodhue County Board voted unanimously to approve an interim-use permit for a utility scale solar garden on two parcels in Pine Island Township, but rejected a last-minute change that would have moved solar panels south, closer to County Road 11. Minneapolis-based Solar Stone Partners plans to develop the 30 acre, 5 megawatt garden to sell and distribute the energy into the existing electrical grid, according to the permit application.
