With two wins in doubles play, the Red Wing girls' tennis team edged out Faribault for a 4-3 Big Nine Conference victory Tuesday at Faribault.
After dropping No. 1 doubles, the Wingers were able to win No. 2 and 3 to ultimately take the meet. The No. 2 pair of Megan Jeranek and Mya Benway beat Faribault's Laura Huffstutter and Abby Seelhammer, 6-1, 6-1. Then at No. 3, Red Wing's Elle Schlangen and Olivia Johnson won 6-4, 6-3 over Sarah McColley and Avery Bein.
In singles, Graci Bettich was a 6-1, 7-5 victor at No. 2 singles over the Falcons' Rachel Bostwich. Then at No. 4, Jenna Siewert helped the Wingers split singles play with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 win against Serena David.
