Baseball: Rocori rallies to beat Red WIng
Red Wing had the lead, but also squandered several chances to extend it. That came back to sink the Wingers as Rocori scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 9-5 victory on Saturday.
Red Wing starter Teddy Tauer was pulled with two outs in the sixth after the Spartans scored two runs to tie the game. Seth Yeatman came in relief, but did not record an out with Rocori scoring three more runs. The Spartans had three hits in the inning, but also walked four times and one batter was hit by a pitch.
The Wingers, who left 11 runners on base, scored four runs in the second inning, getting RBI doubles from Tauer and Teddy Lillico. Brodie Smith also had a run-scoring single in the frame.
Red Wing (6-5) returns home on Tuesday to face Rochester Century.
