Girls Basketball: Cold shooting sinks Wingers against Mayo

Morgan Zebro hit four 3-pointers on Thursday, but Red Wing combined for just two more while shooting 27 percent from behind the arc resulting in a 49-35 Big Nine Conference loss to Rochester Mayo.

Zebro's 12 points all came from long range, with Tayzha Buck's nine points the only other total exceeding four for the Wingers. Zebro added three steals and Buck came up with three rebounds and two assists.

On Friday, Red Wing (15-7, 13-6 Big Nine) hosts Owatonna on Friday and Mankato West on Tuesday before closing the regular season on the road with back-to-back games Feb. 23-24 against Byron and Mayo.
