Boys Hockey: Holy Angels keeps Red Wing at arms length

The last time Holy Angels and Red Wing met on the ice, the Wingers secured a rare Missota Conference victory over the Stars. But Tuesday would not be as kind to Red Wing as Holy Angels won going away, 4-0.

Shon Jordan scored on a Cooper Sande assist 1 minute, 12 seconds into the first period to give the Stars all they needed. Tom Sullivan added a goal at 13:37 of the second on an assist from Ryan Gazich.

Justin Corver scored twice in the third to put the game away. Marshall Barnes assisted on both of Corver’s goals with Andrew Willner adding a second assist on Corver’s second goal.

Winger goaltender Adam Defore made 21 saves in the loss.

Red Wing (3-17-0 overall, 2-7-0 Missota) will host Northfield (8-11-1, 3-6-0) Thursday, and then travel to Chanhassen (8-9-3, 3-4-2) Monday.
