Girls Swimming: Red Wing 3rd at Eagle invite

Competing in the Eagle Invitational at Bloomington Kennedy, the Red Wing girls swimming and diving team placed third in the five-team meet with a score of 399.

Missota Conference foe Farmington took the team title with a score of 811, followed by Bloomington Jefferson with 601.

The Wingers’ top finish came in the 400-yard freestyle relay where the team of Ingrid Olson, Nina Kriese, Hannah Kolsky and Claire King took third place with a time of 4 minutes, 5.69 seconds.

Olson took home a fifth-place finish in the 50 freestyle at 26.73, with King following in sixth place at 27.19. Olson came up with another fifth-place finish with a time of 1:00.63 in the 100 freestyle, and Ashley Thompson put in a solid performance in the 100 breaststroke at 1:16.06.

Red Wing put in another strong showing in the 200 freestyle relay as King, Thompson, Paulina Duchelle and Boisen placed fifth at 1:53.00. In the 200-yard medley relay, Olson, Thompson, Boisen and King placed fourth with a time of 2:06.01.

The Wingers are on the road Tuesday for a non-conference dual meet against Park of Cottage Grove. The first event is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
