Wingers rack up spring Missota honors

The Missota Conference recently released its list of All-Conference teams, and numerous Red Wing athletes made the cut.

The Wingers’ boys tennis team received the most nominations after finishing second in the conference behind Shakopee. Despite finishing second, Red Wing received more All-

Conference players than the Sabers.

Isaac Toivonen, Alex Holm, Luke Bryant, Nick Powers, Travis Toivonen and Marcus Veith were All-Conference, and Noah Christenson was honorable mention.

The Wingers’ baseball team received four nominees with Ty Buck and Michael Bigelbach receiving All-Conference honors, while Matt Zorn and Trey Eckstrom were honorable mention.

For girls golf, Stephanie Herzog and Nicole Schammel were named All-Conference, while Solveig Christenson, Maddie Flack and Reagan Haley received honorable mention nominations for Red Wing.

Laura Chalmers was the Wingers’ lone All-Conference selection for softball, and Red Wing received two honorable mentions in Hannah Walch and Hailey Kuhl.

Taylor Hanson, Jack Gorman and Dylan Goggin were honorable mention All-Missota Conference for the Wingers in boys golf.

Red Wing’s track and field teams put nine athletes on the All-Conference and Honorable Mention lists. Emily Stegora, Jennifer Salter and Macy Kelly were All-Conference for the girls, and Aiden Winn and Nick Connelly were selected All-Conference for the boys team.

Joppa Olone, Tanner Alms, Joe Partington and Darrick Jackson were honorable mention as part of the 4x800-meter relay team. Jackson also received honorable mention in the 400 run.
