Legion Baseball: Red Wing falls for the first time

Red Wing Post 54 was shut down by New Prague’s starting pitcher, Danny Feneis, to lose its first game of the summer season, 5-1.

Feneis pitched a complete game, allowing four hits and striking out 10 without giving up a walk.

Trey Eckstrom gave up just two earned runs, five total, for Red Wing (5-1) on four hits and three walks in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out nine in the loss.

Thate Peterson went 1-for-3 with Post 54’s only RBI and Eckstrom was 1-for-2. Dixon Irwin went 1-for-3, Josh Gadient was 1-for-2 and Preston Blaney scored a run.

Auggie Isaacson led New Prague at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Red Wing will travel to face New Prague again Wednesday.
