Boys Tennis: Wingers come up empty against Panthers
The Red Wing boys’ tennis team traveled to Rochester on Thursday to face an undefeated Century team, but they returned home empty-handed as it took a 7-0 loss.
The Wingers lost all of their matches in two sets but will have little time to dwell on the tough day as they return home on Friday to face Academy of Holy Angels.
Schaeffer Academy 5, Red Wing 2
Taking a break from the recent grind of Big Nine opponents, Red Wing faced off with Schaeffer Academy on Tuesday but was unable to come away with the win, falling, 2-5.
Prince Montcho won 7-5, 6-0 to give Red Wing its only singles victory at No. 3, although Lincoln Bryan narrowly lost 5-7, 4-6 at No. 1.
The No. 1 doubles team of Logan Johnson and Coby Castner claimed victory by winning the second set 7-6 and the tiebreaker 6-0 after dropping the first set 4-6.
